Eventive offered a secure virtual movie screening platform with digital rights management (DRM) technology that would eventually integrate with AARP’s website using single sign-on capabilities.Eventive’s Real Time Broadcast feature allowed AARP to host free virtual screenings of films and documentaries with an interactive chat that helped to enhance the sense of community and togetherness with viewers and drive social connection. And what began in 2021 is still going strong. Eventive continues to offer AARP a place for engaging movie lovers to chat with each other, in real time, from the comfort of their own homes. What started as a pandemic necessity continues to serve as an incredibly popular and impactful program, with thousands tuning in from across the country and engaging weekly with these not-to-be-missed events. The screenings create opportunities for community, connection and spotlight films and storylines that resonate with older viewers.

AARP has expanded its content with AARP Theater, delighting audiences through the performing arts – musicals, ballets, operas, classical music concerts and more.The narrow viewing window of the real-time broadcast — simulating a live event experience — and the DRM security opened the door for AARP to program even more high-quality events with productions viewers may not have the opportunity to see on stage. And again, from the comfort of their home and as part of a larger community of their peers.

In 2022, the Eventive team worked with AARP to integrate a single sign-on system with the virtual screening platform. This drove trackable registrations and helped AARP better understand the digital reach and impact of its programming.AARP also took advantage of Eventive’s “white label” experience to create a custom-branded watch app, AARP Streams, offering a new way for audiences to enjoy Movies for Grownups, AARP Theater events, and other content from their mobile devices and smart TVs.

Eventive customer support is available to assist viewers, with extra staff on hand for high volume events like the Movies for Grownups screenings.The Eventive team is always available to answer questions related to closed captions and other accessibility features, to ensure everyone tuning in can enjoy the show.
