With a modest year-round staff, Big Sky was all in for doubling their audience by adding virtual programming – as long as it wouldn’t also double their work.Using the same process for creating in-person screenings, they built all of their virtual screenings with a simple spreadsheet upload. By integrating virtual, Big Sky is able to reach more viewers in the American Northwest, cultivating future in-person festival attendees. They are also reaching an international audience, mainly in those countries where their selected films are focused.

The “5 film pass” at Big Sky has always been a big hit. Using the analytics dashboard on Eventive, Big Sky was able to determine what optimal pricing would be for this pass. Even as prices increase, pass sales continue to rise!Big Sky also takes advantage of Eventive’s flexible pass rules to create a pass for virtual screenings only, as well as a filmmaker pass and an all-access pass.

Back in 2018, Big Sky was using one ticketing system for advanced sales and another at the door, and they were looking for a more streamlined system that would be intuitive for film festivals. While some of their venues insisted on using their own ticketing systems, Big Sky's adoption of Eventive demonstrated to those partners the importance of a festival-wide system that provided continuity of experience across all sites.Whether folks are buying single tickets or passes, online or at the box office, for in-person or virtual events, Eventive provides a consistent experience.
