Eventive’s advanced editor gives organizations full control of site appearance at no extra cost, and BlackStar worked with developers at The Unloved to beautifully customize their virtual catalog – customizing everything from backgrounds and text font to the shape of the buttons.Using Eventive Everywhere, BlackStar and The Unloved integrated the elements they had built in Eventive seamlessly throughout their site. Film descriptions and images flowed easily into their online program catalog. And embedded buy buttons allow patrons to use Eventive to check out on BlackStar’s own website.

It was important that audiences be able to explore the festival program on their favorite device, so the Eventive team helped BlackStar develop a custom mobile app that fully embodied their festival’s style.Using the app, attendees may explore the schedule, pull up their tickets for in-person events and tune into virtual events on the go.

By adding a virtual component to their in-person festival, BlackStar took the opportunity to expand their audience and help BIPOC movie lovers around the world to gain access to more films that reflect their own experiences.More than 10,000 tickets were issued at both the 2021 and 2022 festivals – and they didn’t just see films! BlackStar also offered in-person events like yoga sessions and virtual events like the Daily Jawn talk show to build community throughout the festival.
